Big Projects Done In Graphic Arts
*WARNING: THE FOLLOWING WORK HAS TAKEN THE USER OVER 9000 HOURS TO COMPLETE AND MASTER*
This Vinyl sticker and Portrait were done both with love and care. The man in the portrait, Magnus Carlsen, is proclaimed the best Chess player in the world and ever to be. I love chess and his play-style so I decided to depict him in the class project. The second photo is an esports team called Cloud 9. They are proclaimed to be the best esports team in general, from League of Legends to Dota to Overwatch, they rank the best altogether, not one specific field (such as skill).

That colorful picture with many errors in it is my first graphic arts project! We had been instructed to make a cartoon character, an original one that was completely new. I decided to make a three-headed alien type character. I had a lot of fun with the project! The second picture is a logo redesign we had to construct from a poorly designed company logo. Great American Pizza, a company located here in Illinois, had a very poorly designed logo as it didn't get across that thy were selling pizza. I decided I would make a figure holding a pizza with the aroma spelling out the letters "GREAT AMERICAN PIZZA". It was a good test of creativity and I had a lot of fun making it and outlining the figure.

And last but not least my t-shirt! Our second to last project before the final exam (which is coincidentally this portfolio) is the creation of the film and putting onto a t-shirt as well. This project was very time consuming and took a lot of effort. The actual shirt I designed was a thought I had come up for Chess club. I wanted to make one since the coach asked me to. This is what I came up with and although I didn't like how it turned out, it still makes me feel good knowing I can make a shirt!
2nd Semester - Photoshop
The FIVE FOUNDATIONS OF PHOTOSHOP
These five projects took up the majority of the semester. In photoshop, I wouldn't say completing these five projects makes you a master with photoshop, but it gives you something to go off of. Each of the five projects focuses on one category, for example the silhouette mainly progresses your skill with clipping masks. Others, such as the movie merge, focus on merging text styles and also photos onto other backgrounds. The results are shown below.
silhouette design
This was the first major project done in the Photoshop section (semester 2). This silhouette was done poorly, mainly because I procrastinated until the very last minute and scrambled for ideas. This is based on Overwatch, with several heroes included in the silhouette. I did not like the overall design of this myself, and even turned this in late hoping for at least a 50% or more on the project. I ended up with a 60% with makes me happy knowing I spent about 30 minutes on this not including the intense amount of procrastination. The outline of the silhouette is Genji, my favorite Overwatch hero and included is Hanzo and McCree.

Horrible AdvertisementThis was an extremely easy project for me because I knew from the top of my head what I was going to do. The "ad" was a lemonade stand and I changed the lemonade to nuclear waste, and inserted a gas mask on the little girl. The rest apart from changing the title of the sign and resizing the gas mask was a cake walk. Putting in radioactive logos and barrels of radioactive waste were among the things that could've been put anywhere on the picture and would've looked okay. I ended up getting a 100% on this project, which I was proud of.

MOVIE MERGEI spent a lot of time procrastinating and thinking for ideas for a movie merge, so I finally came up with one. The movie merge consists of Deadpool and The Walking Dead show. I whipped this project up in about 45 minutes and I received a 7/10 on it. I am happy with that grade because the photoshop of the Deadpool mask is atrocious, however the text looks very well done. I got this inspiration from one of my favorite movies which is Deadpool, and then I searched for titles that had the word "dead" in it and found the walking dead. This merge was not difficult but I did not do a hot job on it. The deadpool mask is poorly photoshopped onto the walking dead character. I do like Deadpool but have never watched Walking Dead.

Pokemon card
The Pokemon card project was by far my favorite one. First of all, it was the most difficult in terms of time and effort, and also I tried to spiffy it up the best I could for the max points. The first step to the Pokemon card is the pose for the picture, which I did so I could be The Flash. Next is editing the pose and making the general picture of the card. I decided to use a lightning like effect as used in the TV show "The Flash" which I found out how to do on Youtube. After completing the actual picture, I worked on the Pokemon card itself. Keep in mind that the design below was actually printed and laminated to be used as a real Pokemon card. I edited some of the minor details, such as the health and the abilities, and also added some of my own effects to it. I received a 10/10 on this project, and rightfully so because I not only had fun making this Pokemon card, but my hard work also stood out among other of my works this semester.
Last but not least, is the individual project. We were instructed to pick any of the 4 previous skills or skills from last semester and re-do into another assignment. I chose to step out of the basic ones we already did, and designed a mousepad. The character is based off of a skin in League of Legends called Championship Zed. I changed the overall color from bluish/black to purplish pink/green. The end product, on the right is after I printed the paper specific to burning onto a mousepad, and finally burned it onto the blank white mousepad. I received a 10/10 on this, which I was proud of because I actually use the mousepad at home of one of my favorite skins in League of Legends.
